Five on Friday

Five on Friday

Is it just me or is the first full week back after a holiday not the worst?? Especially when you work at a college and Christmas break on campus has been so quiet and there were so many parking spots available.

And BAM!

Students are back, it looks like someone kicked over an ant hill and 3,984 students want to change their major. Oh, and by the way, it needed to be done like yesterday. #storyofmylifethisweek

Needless to say, I’m pretty stinkin’ happy it’s Friday and maybe, just maybe, I can go three whole days without hearing a phone ringing off the hook!

THE GOOD LIFE BLOGFriday FavoritesMomfessionals

I’m linking up with all kinds of fun ladies today {darci, karli, amanda, tif, andrea} …you should too!

ONE | Last weekend, I bought my first Taylor Swift album. Who am I??

IMG_5154.PNG

It’s pretty much been on repeat all week.

TWO | I shared this video on Facebook Wednesday night after completing my second day of C25K {it was too long for Instagram} and while it’s nothing grand, I wanted to put it on here too because running in the cold is a big deal for me.

Does anyone else like to hear what other people, especially bloggers, sound like?? Maybe I’m just a weirdy but I feel like after I’ve seen a vlog from any of my favorite bloggers I know them better because I can actually put a voice with their face. Well, enjoy my very country accent.

THREE | I finally ordered my 2015 planner and decided to give Plum Paper a try after reading so many great reviews about it. The struggle has been real living without a planner the past couple days. I’ll keep you posted once it comes in.

FOUR | I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned this on here but for the past year or so, Gracie {my little sister} has been struggling with epilepsy. She was admitted to the hospital yesterday to do a 24 hour brain study with the hopes that she will have a seizure while being monitored. Hopefully, this will give my parents more information on the triggers and treatment of her seizures. So after work yesterday, Cory and I headed to Greenville to keep her company for a little while.

And the little stinker cheated big time on some Cootie.

FIVE | I finished my last Rwanda recap yesterday and I’m pretty sad about it. I’m really going to miss sharing new pictures every week but I’m just thankful I have our trip documented. Hopefully, I will get to printing my recaps soon. Rebecca Jo recommended blog2print. Has anyone ever used them? Thoughts?? Any recommendations on which company to use will be greatly appreciated!

I hope y’all have a great weekend and stay warm!

Good work on the c25k, especially in this cold!! I hope they find out more about your sister’s epilepsy. I have a friend that struggled with that and it is scary. Yay for planners and trip albums! I’ve never used a blog2print like service, but I’m interested in doing that. Let us know what you find out! Happy weekend girl!

  • Sarah Emily

Iam sorry to hear about gracie but, she looks like a little fighter! I hope that the doctors can figure something out. Can’t wait to hear what your thoughts are on the new planner!

  • Tif @ Bright on a Budget

Congrats on running in the cold! I don’t think I could do it! And I really hope your little sister gets some helpful information!

Also, I hope you’ll hop over to my blog and link up for H54F:) Some of my friends and I are carrying on the H54F torch for the Lauren Elizabeth and would love to have you link up! Since it’s our 1st week, we’re doing a giveaway for a $100 Target giftcard to 1 of the bloggers who links up with us! Hope you’ll join in!

Ahh -I actually don’t think you have that bad of a country accent – so KUDOS to you :) You are precious.
& you should be SO PROUD of yourself for doing that run. It’s no joke inhaling that air. I hear you coughing. Running in the cold makes my lungs have a fit for about an hour afterward. Keep it up!!!

BTW – I too got Taylor Swift CD… & I have been a TS hater since she came out… so that I have her CD is nothing short of the world coming to an end soon :)

  • jillian

IM EXCITED TO HEAR HOW YOU LIKE YOUR PLANNER! SO SWEET OF YOU TO SPEND SOME QUALITY TIME WITH YOUR SISTER — IM SURE IT MEANT THE WORLD TO HER. XO JILLIAN

  • Katie Elizabeth

I just got the Taylor Swift CD and am obsessed. I can’t stop listening to it! Saying a prayer for your sister – my brother had epilepsy when we were younger. I have no idea how common this is but once he went through puberty, he “grew out of it”. He hasn’t been on meds or anything for years so hang in there! Hope you can all get some much needed answers :)

  • Maggie@ Polka Dots in the Country

The first week after being off for so long is extremely rough. We got some snow here on Tuesday so I took advantage and stayed home and got out of being at work for a full week. :)

Congrats on running! Running in the cold is so hard, I heard you’re supposed to have something over your mouth so you breath in warm air instead of cold air? Not sure if that’s true but I may try it out! And I’m the same way with wanting to hear what y’all sound like, whenever I see someone posted a video I get excited lol.

I hope they’re able to figure out what’s triggering your sisters seizures, poor little thing! Can’t wait to read your last Rwanda recap, I’m catching up on my blog list this weekend too! Have a great weekend girl!

  • Amanda

I’ve been using blog2print for 4 years now. I make a blog book every year! It’s nothing super fancy, but I don’t have any complaints. If you get the softcover black&white pages, it’s not that expensive, and the website is kind of ghetto but really easy to use. I would recommend them! Sign up for their email list, and they send out codes for 15% off all the time.

Also, running in the cold is not joke, so props to you! Excited for your 5k :) i hope you start to really enjoy running!

  • DeNae

I just popped over from The Farmer’s Wife link up. Nice job on your c25k. And I bought my first plum paper planner this year and love it so far. So pretty and easy to customize and sturdy. I hope you like it, too.

  • Paige Gunter

I am sorry to hear about your sister, Paige. I hope she is doing better. Nothing like a younger sister to keep a game exciting. My non-competitive family once kept one round of uno going for two hours simply in an effort to keep my overly competitive sister from winning. :) Also, you have just reminded me that my brand new calendar is hidden somewhere in the house. I really need to go find it. :)

  • ellesees

so i had this amazing comment and the internet ate it!!! so this is the condensed version! hope your sis feels btter soon. she is a cutie!! if you like vlogs, i do videos weekly. i have a southern accent!

  • Katie @ Cup of Tea

Your sweet sister has the most infectious smile!!! Hope all went well and that her results are encouraging. And cooties!! I haven’t played that in years! I’m seeking it out right now on Amazon :)

Thank you so much for linking up with H54F! Hope to see you again this Friday!

I’m praying for your little sister. Hopefully you all can get some answers. I seriously need to order a planner. It would make my life so much easier.Thank you so much for linking up to High Five for Friday!!!
