Weekend Recap

Weekending

Happy Monday, my friends! We started our weekend with a little birthday celebration for Amber and while we were at dinner, we got the news that Daniel and Tiffany had welcomed their sweet baby girl into the world! Even though it was late, we headed on to the hospital to meet sweet Miss Selah.

When I asked to make sure it was okay that I share her photos on the blog {I try to always do that with children} Daniel said to make sure I slip a line in that no one steals her name! It’s a gorgeous one but it’s hers :)

I stole this cute one from Tiffany’s instagram. Isn’t she just perfect???

Saturday morning we finally put my dresser {that’s been painted for two months} in the bedroom and  then headed to Greenville to try to find a few pieces to finish the room. I’ve been on the hunt for a new comforter for at least two years but could never pull the trigger on anything I liked.

I really wanted to stay away from white but I love the gold dots. I’m not sure if it goes with dresser {or the grey walls} but I found a few pieces that had grey and gold together. Even if I don’t keep it in the master, I’ll use it in guest bedroom because I’m in the love with this duvet cover.

Now I’m confused what color curtains, rug and bed skirt to go with.

What do you think? Does it go with the dresser?

I also found some night stands at TjMaxx that I think will help complete the look when they get a coat of white paint.

While in Greenville, my mom texted me and asked if I knew anyone who would take this puppy named Charlie because the owner was going to have to take her to the pound.

No, of course not, but I couldn’t let her go to the pound. So we picked her up on our way home. She’s very sweet and playful but our dogs aren’t very fond of her yet. They’re lazy and she’s definitely got some built up energy.

I think with a little bit of work, we can make her a good dog. She’s already a different dog than she was on Saturday night but we are working on leash and crate training her.

Sunday afternoon was a little rough on Charlie so we spent the evening cuddling and watching football.

Any tips on how to handle a new, crazier dog?

I love you are the type of person who takes in a dog so it wont go to the pound… you are my people :)
I just got a new gold polka dot coffee mug – its become my favorite!

I love the dresser! Great color!! You could do another accent color for the curtains, like a coral. and how sweet is that pup? Good for you for taking her in. HOpefully things will settle as she gets used to a new routine and your pups get used to having a puppy around. they can be full of energy and I’m sure your pups are like what is up with this dog…ha! Good luck!

Charlie and Selah are both so adorable! Loving those gold polka dot sheets and I think they totally go with the dresser! Are you against white for anything in the room or just the comforter? Because you could do a fun comforter and then keep everything else simple with white. Can’t wait to see how the room turns out!

aw what a sweet baby, and lovely name.
no tips on the dog – goodness me! we are still working with dealing with a 3rd crazy cat. the oldest and the baby still don’t love each other. hope she calms down soon :)

Aw, congrats to the new parents, she’s adorable and what a pretty name!

I am in LOVE with the polka dots… obviously. Ha! I think the gold compliments the dresser very nicely, I can’t wait to see what it looks like when y’all are done! I haven’t done much to our bedroom yet and I just may steal some of your ideas! ;) I’m thinking white curtains would look nice… I bought some white grommet curtains from Ikea and I love them and they’re only $30/pair.

And I like you even more knowing how you took Charlie in! I hate to see animals go to shelters or worse, so you and Cory are so amazing for taking her in! The other dogs will come around, it’ll just take time. My co-worker’s brother is a dog trainer, so I will ask her if he has any advice and let you know!

Awww! That puppy is so cute! I knew I had missed the memo on something when I seen your pics on IG! I hope she’s doing well! I don’t really have any suggestions because I’ve never added a new puppy in with ours. I’m nervous about adding a child into our house of dogs! Lol. Love the pictures of your friends baby girl! Beautiful name!!!! :)

Oh my gosh, yes. Everything looks perfect in the room! The dresser is totally awesome with the duvet, and I love that duvet, by the way! So awesome! I might try to keep the curtains mostly white, if not all white. I am going to do a living room project where I paint twin flat sheets with gold paint at the bottom. So it’s white on top, and then the bottom third or fourth is solid gold. Something like that might be nice for the bedroom. Just a thought. Two twin flat sheets are cheaper than two panels! #justsayin! Love it all!
